Pervolia (also spelled Perivolia) is a village located 16 km west of Larnaca. With a good swell there're long rolling waves far from the shore, perfect for kitesurfing. There's no beach but the access to the sea is good enough and the launching and landing of kite can be done in the fields.
Thermal Western winds are dominant from May till October and present almost every day. The breeze starts around 2 p.m. and lasts until 7 p.m. Average strength is 14-18 knots (7-9 m/s). The best direction is South-west (cross-onshore).
North-west (offshore) and Eastern winds are dominant during the winter.
The spot works well all year long with Western winds.
Beach break with left and right handers. Starts working at 1.0-1.5 m and holds up to 2.5 m. Good swell directions are South-west and West.
How to get there
The beach is close to Larnaca international airport, about 15 min drive.
If coming from Limassol get to Mazotos, then follow the road signs for Camel Park. At the park turn to the right and as you get to a parallel road turn to the left. Follow the road until it brings you to the first houses in Pervolia. In 1-2 km there'll be a turn to the right between houses and a small road through the field to the spot.
