The powerful typhoon Fitow made landfall in easter China in the morning today. With winds up to 82 knots (151km/h) and waves more than 20 meters high the storm triggered the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of people.
At least two people have been killed by the typhoon, state-run news agency reported. One victim was on his way to rescue a fisherman when he was blown off a hill by strong winds late on Sunday.

The Qiantang river, in China, is known for holding a tidal bore that may be ridden by surfers. This time the wave powered by Typhoon Trami traveled along the Qiantang River with a face height larger than usual. The local tidal level reached 7 meters.
